Professional Scope Notice
The Universal Memory Jar (UMJ) programme is a reflective and educational tool designed to support emotional awareness, communication, and self-expression.
It is not a therapeutic intervention, does not diagnose, and does not replace or override the role of qualified professionals such as teachers, therapists, counsellors, psychologists, or healthcare practitioners.
UMJ is intended to be used alongside professional judgement, existing frameworks, and safeguarding policies within educational, therapeutic, and
well-being settings.

Universal Memory Jar (UMJ) sessions are guided by trained, trauma-aware facilitators who understand the importance of emotional safety, choice, and trust. Facilitators create calm, supportive environments where children and young people can explore feelings at their own pace, without pressure to disclose.
Each facilitator works in a reflective, strengths-based way, using storytelling, visual tools, and age-appropriate activities to support emotional awareness and self-expression. The approach is grounded in lived experience, professional practice, and a deep respect for individual journeys.
UMJ facilitators prioritise safeguarding, confidentiality, and inclusion, ensuring every participant feels seen, heard, and supported throughout the process.

We offer a variety of learning options to fit your schedule and learning style. Choose from online courses, in-person classes, and self-paced learning programs to meet your needs.

We believe emotional learning should be accessible, inclusive, and adaptable to different settings and needs. The Universal Memory Jar programme is designed to be delivered flexibly across schools, community settings, and support services, with consideration for resources, capacity, and safeguarding requirements.
Our approach prioritises equity, ensuring children and young people can access meaningful emotional support without barriers.

The Universal Memory Jar programme is being developed in line with recognised safeguarding, trauma-informed, and educational best practices.
Our training and learning materials are designed to support future alignment with relevant industry standards and professional development frameworks.
As the programme evolves, certification pathways will be explored to ensure practitioners, educators, and organisations can confidently evidence their learning and engagement with the Universal Memory Jar approach.

We use engaging and interactive course materials to make learning fun and effective. Our courses are designed to help you retain information and apply what you've learned in real-world situations.

We're here to support you every step of the way. Our dedicated student support team is available to answer your questions and provide guidance throughout your learning journey.
